Queer Porn Tv gets in bed with Smitten Kitten!
Queer Porn Tv hearts Smitten Kitten!
Smitten Kitten is one of the nation’s premier retailers of sex toys, accessories, gear, videos, books, and resources. Their commitment to making dildos, vibrators, porn, handcuffs, erotica, and education available to women, queers, transfolk, and sex positive people of all kinds is inspiring!
We have been scheming with the radical women at Smitten Kitten to collaborate on some innovative approaches to queer porn accessibility as well as education and technique videos. One of our most exciting projects will be revealed on Valentines Day, so stay tuned!
The Year So Far…
Queer Porn Tv has spent most of 2011 thus far on the road, in hotel rooms, and in all other ways living it up like rock stars.
We kicked off the year with a trip to Las Vegas for the Adult Entertainment Expo and Adult Video News Awards. Our directorial and performance efforts last year were recognized in such categories as Best Professional Amateur Film, Best BDSM Film, and Best Alternative Website. Besides basking in glory, we were also there to (ahem) pimp QPTV to the mainstream adult industry.
Shacking up with April Flores and Carlos Batts (who were nominated for Best Crossover Star and Best Specialty Release, respectively) was only the start of the fun. The Queer Porn Mafia was in full effect, perhaps best illustrated with a post-Awards limo ride and late night dinner with Jack Hammer, Dylan Ryan, Wolf Hudson, Jiz Lee, Mickey Mod. Another highlights was a hung-over brunch with that same crowd plus Syd Blakovich, Shine Louise Houston, Essin Em, and the folks from Self Serve. FTM Legend Buck Angel and his badass wife Elayne stopped by to gift us with models of his new glass toy line.
Along the way we got hugs from such friends, journalists, and performing icons as Nina Hartley, Dana Dearmond, Lily Cade, Gram Ponante, Lux Alptraum from Fleshbot and Jincey Lumpkin.
The business highlight of the trip was meeting with the gang from Smitten Kitten, one of the country’s finest retailers of sex positive toys, movies, books, and resources based in Minneapolis and Denver. The ground-breaking results of our conspiratorial meetings will be revealed this year!
The fabulous luxury toy company NJOY toys sponsored us with overwhelming generosity. Not only did they score us floor tickets to the convention and assist our travel budget, but they also donated three of their best stainless steel toys for our Launch party. Thanks to Greg, Deanna, and the whole crew!
The Awards themselves were pretty standard stuff, but we looked absolutely fabulous thanks to make-up by sweetheart Victor Del Castillo (nominated for his work this year as well!)
We made a brief stop back in our beloved San Francisco to throw an appreciation Launch Party for all those who made QPTV possible. The Lexington Club hosted a rowdy night of booty jams and shameless debauchery. We were honored to have so many sex positive toy retailers donate unique gifts, which we awarded to anyone willing to hop up on stage and shake their ass or dry hump James Darling. NJoy donated a Pure Wand, Butt Plug, and the famous Eleven, local artisans Dirty Darlings provided us with leather cuffs, and Toronto-based Aslan Leather supplied a leather harness. The entire party was livestreamed with the help of Skin Video.
Then we hit the road again! Joining Juliette March, James Darling, Jiz Lee, and Mickey Mod, we met up with Northwesterners Tobi HIll-Meyer and Sophia St James for Queer Porn Week at Evergreen College in Olympia Washington!
Organized by Juliette (listen to a podcast with Madison Young on her motivation for doing so), the week included screenings of Bordello, Fluid:Women Redefining Sexuality, and a panel on Queer Visibility and Sex Positivity in Porn. Workshops included James’ discussion of Trans Sexuality, Tina’s class on Dirty Talk, Jiz’s live demonstrations of Impact play from face slapping to kicking to fisting, and Sophia’s explanation of how to own your strap-on cock. We were welcomed by intelligent students and had some serious fun in our hotel room too! Again Skin Video helped us livestream all of these events.
What sexy shenanigans are in store for the rest of 2011? We can’t wait to find out!
XOXO

Masterminds
Courtney Trouble and Tina Horn met during the great San Francisco porn renaissance of the late 00’s. After eight years at the helm of the internet’s first and longest-running queer pin-up and porn site, Trouble began making a feature-length DVD a month, providing a forum for countless queers from literally all over the world. Emerging from a background in pro-BDSM and comprehensive sexual health education, Horn saw the freedoms of Bay Area porn as both a profitable outlet for her rampant attention-whore tendencies and an opportunity to promote real social good. Their common background of sex work and DIY punk community inspired them to band together take pornography into their own hands.
As diy punks, we value community, and believe that the relationships cultivated by art and work and shared vision contribute to rich creative experience and higher quality production
As poltically-minded artists, we believe in using sexually explicit media as a platform for documenting and archiving the sexual expression of the disenfranchised (ie those who don’t see their bodies, gender, desires, lifestyle, or erotic pastimes represented in culture or media)
As feminists, we believe that our work is essentially revolutionary because the female queer gaze is a radical tool to exploit the pornographic medium
As queers, we believe in reinforcing an open definition of Queer as an all-inclusive, empowering identity for EVERY HUMAN.
